General Information of Evaporative Air Coolers

WATER CONSUMPTION

The consumption of water always depends on relative humidity, temperature of outside air during 24 hours and on the speed at which the cooler is operating. For stationary installed air coolers which are switched to the permanent water supply the consumption of water in a hot summer day varies from 15 to 50 lit/hr. The lower the temperature of outside air- the lower is the consumption of water which might become even “0” when the air cooler is operating in Fan Mode.

ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION OF EVAPORATIVE AIR COOLERS

C2India air coolers use about one tenth of electrical energy consumed by other refrigerated systems. So they are very energy efficient and cost efficient to operate. From this point they are ultimate.

MAINTENANCE OF AIR COOLERS

Maintenance is very easy. Depending on the degree of pollution in the environment and water (mainly dust and dirt) you will only need to clean water tank, water pump and filters at the end of every 2 months. In more polluted areas frequent cleaning is required. The cleaning is done using normal water and sponge without any chemicals. The cost of maintenance and service of our air coolers is only 15% compared to other type conditioners, including compressor type. The service of our air coolers can be made by the users themselves.

OUR AIR COOLERS FILTER THE AIR & LARGELY REDUCE MOSQUITOES & FLIES

Filters block all the dust and many smaller particles (with the size of more than 10 microns) such as pollen's which cause serious human discomfort. Above this our air coolers diminish all unpleasant smells, tobacco smoke and also reduce Mosquitoes.

TEMPERATURE IN THE PREMISES DECREASED BY EVAPORATIVE AIR COOLERS

It depends on the relative humidity and temperature of the ambient air. For example, under the temperature of 35 degrees C and the relative humidity of outside air 50%, the air in the premises will be cooled to 28.5 degrees C–drop of temperature for 6.5 degree C. Under the temperature of outside air 45 degrees C and relative humidity of outside air 30%, the air in the premises will be cooled to 32.5 degrees C – drop of the temperature for 12.5 degrees C. However the level of comfort in the premises depends not only on decrease of the temperature in the premises but also on the movements of the air in the premises. So regarding 1st example the real feeling of heat by the body of the person as a result of influence of these two factors (decreasing of temperature and movements of the air) will be approximately corresponding to 25 degrees C. Regarding the 2nd example – 31 degrees C. This is the phenomenon of evaporative air cooling, creating required level of comfort for people, animals & plants.

WINDOWS AND DOORS OF THE PREMISES MUST BE OPENED.

Our air coolers use simple water as coolant, which evaporates when the warm outside air is getting moisturized by water filters of the air coolers and delivered in the premises. As a result the humidity in the premises slightly increases. Such additional humidity is not felt by the human bodies if you follow one of the main rules of evaporative air cooler functionality – amount of air delivered to the premises via evaporative air coolers must be exhausted from the premises via openings or/ additional exhaust ventilators. For better results, always allow the air from the air coolers to flow through the premises. Otherwise humidity in the premises can reach a level which may negatively influence the level of comfort in the premises. The outside air comes into the premises only through air coolers creating little bit higher pressure when compared to outside pressure. As result impure outside air cannot come inside the premises through opened windows and doors.

MAIN PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF EVAPORATIVE AIR COOLERS

Why do we feel cooler by the sea or by a river? It is because of natural evaporation- sea breeze is cooler because hot air blows over water causing some of the water to evaporate and absorb heat from the air. The air is cooled by this evaporation process making it fresh and cool. Or, How do we feel when we come out from the sea water on the beach, after swimming in a hot day at a water temperature of 27 degrees C and air temperature of 35-40 degrees C? Of course we feel cool. But the air and water are warm! And it seems there is no option for cool air. The principle is the same – When the hot air flows over our wet skin the water evaporates and as a result our body feels cool. C2India has taken this simple natural process and developed Air coolers with technology. Each C2India air cooler contains large filter pads. During the cooling cycle these pads are kept wet by water distribution System. Hot air from outside is then drawn through these pads by a powerful fan, and is cooled by the evaporation process. C2India air coolers supply a continuous flow of fresh naturally cooled air, without any air being recirculated. Our simplicity in design gives our air coolers many advantages over compressor-type air conditioning.
